Welcome to our Community Website

CROWK

is a community-based organisation whose mission is to support residents in their development of a socially vibrant, environmentally sustainable, local community, ensuring that community resources are protected and maintained as community assets.

Our Aim

The specific objectives of CROWK are to:

Why CROWK was formed

The initial reason for forming CROWK was to oppose inappropriate re-development of a community recreation asset, the Murrumbidgee Country Club. This initial focus rapidly broadened to ensure residents have a significant say about the future direction of their community. CROWK remains committed to ensuring resident interests and the local environment are not subjugated to the interests of external profit seekers.

Concerned Residents for West Kambah

Café based community consultation process.

CROWK has received an Envirofund grant from the ACT government to run six café-style social networking and information events. This café style process is an innovative way of building a stronger local community.

Events will take place in local shopping centres in Kambah and parts of Weston Creek. Refreshments are provided. Through these events, CROWK hopes to provide an enjoyable and relaxing environment where local residents can talk about their neighborhood and identify priorities with the aim of:

  • improving the local community’s sustainability.
  • building stronger local networks; and
  • identifying what local residents can do together
